Imagine a community where we look out for each other, where kindness and connection are the norm, and, where in our most difficult moments, we are buoyed by small and big acts of support. This is the vision that launched Newton Neighbors five years ago. Thanks to you and your continued support, this vision is now a reality!

 

Today we are asking for your help with a donation to assist our volunteers as we work to ensure that all of our neighbors can get the help they need, when they need it!

 

In the past year alone, we have connected countless members of our community to invaluable aid; made 1,783 deliveries for 3 Newton food pantries; served 160 families by providing grocery gift cards during the week of Thanksgiving; sent 39 NPS students to camp; distributed 25,000 diapers to 320 families, monitored “The Freedge” one day per week; and, most recently, collected and distributed 100’s of backpacks, lunchboxes, water bottles, and noise cancelling headphones to NPS students as they head back to school.
Who would have guessed back in March 2020 that, when four Newton women gathered to address the pandemic’s impact on student lunches, it would be just the beginning of an all-volunteer organization dedicated to helping, welcoming, and connecting neighbors?
